NEWS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Zealand internet provider, Wireless Nation, further demonstrates its commitment to the rural sector in a new agreement with Farmstrong, an initiative to promote wellbeing for all farmers and growers across New Zealand.

Wireless Nation’s zero-rated data agreement means that its Satellite Broadband customers can access Farmstrong’s website without the data counting towards their data cap.

Wireless Nation’s technical director, Tom Linn says he is passionate about making internet connectivity easier for people living in rural areas.

“We understand that satellite data is precious. We also understand that rural communities’ access to internet connectivity can have a real impact on mental health and wellbeing,” says Mr Linn.

Glenn Croasdale from Farmstrong welcomes the deal.

“We believe good reliable and affordable connectivity is critical for the health and wellbeing of rural communities – especially in regard to minimising the sense of isolation for our rural families.”

“Thanks to Wireless Nation, we can watch videos and spend as long as you want on the Farmstrong site, learning how to live well and stay well,” says Mr Croasdale.

Wireless Nation is a strategic partner of Rural Health Alliance Aotearoa New Zealand (RHAANZ).  The wholly-owned New Zealand company also has zero-rated data partnerships with ASB, PGG Wrightson, FMG and MYOB. It also zero-rates VoIP phone calls on its Satellite network.

Since 2005, Wireless Nation has consistently provided fast broadband anywhere it’s needed, from apartments in Auckland’s CBD to the remote Chatham Islands. Rural communities in particular benefit from Wireless Nation’s powerful Optus satellite network, which has a high look angle so is reliable, less prone to rain fade and less likely to have line of sight issues.  It also offers fixed line broadband and Voice Over IP (VoIP).
